The People That Represent Us???

Hear what actually happened at the Council meeting on March 13th the night of the Airstrip Development Approval. Listen to how they show their disregard for the residents of Blackheath. It is quite shameful for people that are meant to represent us!

Council Meeting 13th March 2012 - Sale of Blackheath Airstrip (audio)

Incredible!! Have a listen. This is when the big decision was made. It's so sad to realise that this is how The Blue Mountains City Council regards the local community and it's concerns and how recklessly such large decisions are made.

Council Try to Bulldoze The Community of Blackheath!

Council meeting tomorrow night 7:30, Item 19: Tender for the Design and Construction of Infrastructure Services for Stage 1 Development of Hat Hill Road, Blackheath

Wow this council don’t mind taking a risk! Moving ahead without completing all the reports required is either very brave or very stupid!
They are doing everything they can to fast track this to try and stop us. However signing up a tenderer is by far not an end of it.
We have been informed that even this is not enough to stop a reversal of this decision and it will not stop us!

Something else the BMCC seem to have forgotten in their own records.

The recommendations of the draft Strategy are that:
1. The Council give In-Principle support to the provision of one authorised dirt jump trail
in each of the 5 Planning Areas. The final outcome will be dependent upon the risk
management, financial components and statutory requirements being satisfied.
2. That subject to the consideration of issues arising in the course of ongoing
consultation and the outcomes of the public exhibition the following recommendations
are made with respect to some key sites:

PROTECTION OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Item 7 - Ordinary Meeting, 2/4/02
Area 1
· The existing Hat Hill Rd site on the former Blackheath Aerodrome and the
Oaklands Rd site in Horseshoe Falls Reserve, Hazelbrook are proposed to be
retained, and site management measures implemented to mitigate impacts

Blue Mountains City Council has gone too far!

Blue Mountains City Council has gone too far!

They ignore their own consultation policies.

They put money before community and the environment.

They have shown complete contempt for the community of the Upper Mountains!

Council Elections, Vote Wisely!

The next Council election will be held on Saturday, 8 September 2012.
If you have the opportunity to speak with any of the candidates ask them what they think about the current councils discussion to go ahead with the development of Blackheath Airstrip without Community Consultation? Also ask them if “NO Consultation” on such a large development is something they would ever support?

Vote Wisely!
